Award-winning hair and beauty salon group celebrates 30th Anniversary with customer magazine makeover

Saks, the award winning hair and beauty salon group, is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a makeover of its customer magazine. The company has appointed creative publisher Square One Group to reinvigorate the title using informative editorial, stylish design and high-end photography normally associated with high street glossies.

Sak's Head of Marketing Laura Halford-MacLeod says, "Saks has become the UK's leading hair and beauty salon chain by giving our clients exactly the kind of personalised, high quality attention they desire. Our clients are image-conscious, busy, want results fast and are prepared to spend time and money on looking glamorous and achieving physical wellbeing. The Saks Magazine is another prefect way to converse with our clients and stimulate interest in hair and beauty trends."

The 52pp glossy will be published three times a year and distributed via Saks 100 plus franchised salons. The magazine will be targeted at Saks' clients, the majority of which are full-time professional females, aged between 25-55 who are committed to looking and feeling good.

With over 20 years publishing and media expertise, Aileen Scoular has been appointed as the magazine's consultant editor and explains her plans for the magazine, "With such a tight target market the editorial will be focused on the things the reader enjoys – hair, beauty, fashion, interiors, travel, eating out and celebrity culture. The magazine will be a chance to leave behind the mundane routine, the shopping list and the office filing. We will humanise the editorial at every opportunity, bringing the words alive with stunning imagery, real-life comment and celebrity participation."

The re-launch issue will be available early May 2004.
