Leading independent contract-publishing agency, Square One Group, has been appointed to create a new publication as part of Visit Britain's latest marketing campaign, Taste England..

The 64 page, glossy highlighting the best of England's food and drink, will be available in September and distributed via regional tourist board centres and the Visit Britain website.

Vineet Lal, England Marketing said: "The campaign is in response to consumer demand for information on food and drink as an integral part of their holiday. We are also keen to show off the high quality and variety of food and drink in England, focusing on traditional and more modern influences, from farmers markets to traditional cheese makers, winemakers and restaurants."

Edited by Jo Swinnerton, ex-managing editor of Waitrose Seasons, its aim is to stimulate the English tourism economy by providing exposure for quality English food and drink. The content will highlight inspirational food and drink to encourage readers to choose England as a quality food tourist destination.

Swinnerton said: "We have a lot to offer as a food and drink nation, we want to encourage interaction amongst our readers and encourage them to visit and taste England!"

Sean King, Square One Group commercial director, added: "Taste England is a very exciting and innovative campaign that fits perfectly within our growing portfolio of consumer magazines."

Visit Britain markets Britain to the rest of the world and England to the rest of the UK by creating world-class destination brands and marketing campaigns. It was formed when the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourism Council merged in April 2003.
