This is a very good question and not one that has a straight forward answer. It will depend on what you are after and what you are willing to pay.

You need to work out your priorities and choose the services that you are most likely to need. Tailor this to your personal physical condition and health issues and ensure you are as detailed as possible. Do not skip any details if you think they may be important. You need to find an insurance firm that covers these needs and this is different for everyone.

In many cases, geographical location will also play a part in deciding which is the best firm from which to buy health insurance. You must ask firms about your location and whether or not this will effect which services are available to you.

Your budget is also another consideration when answering this question. If you are willing to pay whatever it takes then you may need the firm with the best services available. If you are on a budget then you are more likely to want the firm that offers the most services for the lowest premiums.

You can search many of these criteria on a price comparison site and work out for yourself which firm offers you what you want for the price you want. You will have to be prepared to make compromises on this one though and you cannot throw in all the services on the planet for low premiums, no matter how healthy you are.

Different firms have different conditions and the best firm for you is the one that has the conditions that are the most favourable towards your position. It isn’t possible to say which firm is the very best as they all offer different insurance policies. You need to compare them for yourself whilst ensuring to take all of your needs into account. Once you have weighed up the costs and benefits of each firm you will soon be able to come to a decision for yourself on this one.

Health insurance premiums are only worth paying in hindsight of course but there are steps you can take to ensure you are paying as little as possible for your cover. It’s simply a question of your personal choice and good health.

One way in which you can lower your premiums is to cut down on the services you are paying for and what you wish to be covered for. This will reduce your premiums as you will be a less risky customer for the insurance firm. This is known as your deductible and you usually need to volunteer to pay these yourself in order to cut down your premiums. This may backfire if you have to fork out but it means you are taking the financial risk for yourself. Make sure you know what you are paying for and don’t pay for extra services you are very unlikely to ever need.

You can also try shopping around for the best deals as well. There are many price comparison sites that cover health insurance and these could help you to find the best deal for your personal needs. You have to be careful when doing this to ensure you know what you are after from your health insurance.

You don’t have to just accept the price you are given either. You could ask your firm exactly how you could reduce your premiums and also try arguing the price down. This doesn’t always work but it has to be worth a try.

Perhaps the simplest way to reduce your premiums is to adjust your lifestyle to make yourself more health insurance friendly. If you are overweight or smoke cigarettes then this will all push up your costs. Just losing weight or giving up smoking will make a big difference and other factors such as engaging in healthy eating or regular sport will really take those premiums down. To put it simply, if you reduce the chances of you needing medical care then you will reduce your premiums. Make it as risk free for the firms as possible and they will be sure to make their costs a little more wallet friendly.

It does occasionally occur that somebody is denied health insurance coverage. This doesn’t necessarily have to be a complete disaster or even a cause for great concern as there are things you can do in this situation.

Many organisations offer health insurance coverage and this is not just limited to insurance companies. You can, of course, look at other insurance firms as terms and conditions do indeed vary from one firm to another. If you have no luck with one firm then you may get it with another, it may be a case of pot luck but certainly try all of the firms first.

If you still have no luck, many organisations could help you out. Although this occurs mostly in America, there are other ways of getting yourself covered. Some employers are able to provide you with cover on their insurance and you may be a member of another organisation that offers this kind of cover.

You need to ask why you have been denied health insurance. In some cases, just taking steps to improve your health will make the difference as many firms will not pay out on cases where you have not been taking care of your body. This may be a case of losing weight or giving up smoking.

If push comes to shove then you may have to just accept that the costs are going to be very high. Often this is very high indeed but this is a rarity. You may have to give up some of the services that you want from your insurer in order to get yourself some manner of cover. Every last chance has to be taken up if you are in this situation and you need to be asking all the insurance firms in the directory what their various policies are. You need to work out where you are willing to compromise and where you really need the cover. Your local Citizen’s Advice Bureau may also be able to help you if you need more severe assistance but most cases can be resolved by themselves.

Before purchasing some health insurance, it is important to get everything worked out in order to avoid taking a huge step in the wrong direction. You must ask the right questions before signing on the dotted line and paying the premiums.

You need to ask yourself who the insurance plan is for and what you are hoping to get out of it. You also need to factor in all of the health issues that everybody on the insurance coverage will bring to the table. These all need to be made very clear when taking out health insurance cover.

You need to ask yourself what services you are likely to require when finding your health insurance cover. Some policies and firms don’t always offer the services you are looking for and you must ask about these things to avoid being refused cover. The small print is small for a reason but if you ask the questions you will get the answers.

Location is also worth considering. Some health insurance plans will not offer you some services based upon your location. Under some circumstances, it may be a little impractical to get certain services to all customers and thus you should ask around. The insurance firms should be able to tell you this but your neighbours and work colleagues should also be able to help you out here.

If you are considering a group insurance policy then there are other considerations to make. These are cheaper than individual policies but are also a little more complicated. In some cases, you will only be eligible for individual insurance and thus you need to ask the firm if any member of the group is likely to be excluded. You need to ask this as some firms may not pay on any of the group’s claims if one member isn’t eligible.

You need to be asking the questions as far as the majority of insurance firms are concerned and you need to be especially careful when purchasing group health insurance. Ask yourself what you are looking for and ask the firms you are considering if they provide the services that you are looking for.
